Carton Number |
N..14 |
M |
This is the bar code symbol on the shipping carton. It is recommended to use ITF-14.
However, EAN-13, UPC-12 codes are also acceptable. Note: The DOS-acquisition software will automatically generate an
ITF-14 carton number. This is done by
taking out the check digit of the EAN-13 of the product, add a logistical
variant (a number from zero to nine) in front and the check digit will be calculated
including the logistical variant according to the check digit algorithm. Logistical variants are allocated at the discretion of the
company. They are used to create an
unique ITF-14 number which distinguishes between different packaging levels
of the same item. This option is only
available when the items within the non-retail item are carrying the same
EAN-13 number. For instance, if a company has different levels of packaging
or different pack size in a shipping carton, A carton of 12 pcs A carton of 24 pcs A carton of 24 pcs A carton of 36 pcs In this case, the 1st
digit of the ITF-14 carton code will be represented by 1 for carton with 12 pcs, 2
for carton with 24 pcs and 3 for
carton with 36 pcs. In cases where an
EAN-13 or UPC-12 barcode is used for carton, upon entering the EAN-13
barcode, additional zero are automatically appended in front of the EAN-13 or
UPC-12 barcode to reflect a 14-digit carton barcode. In the event where
your company have already created an ITF-14 digit carton code, please
overwrite the ITF-14 carton code generated by the software by entering your existing carton code. |
Eg : Product with EAN-13 barcode 888 8247 13411 3 ITF-14 carton code for the above will be stored in NEPC as a)
Carton with 12 pcs 1 888 8247 13411 0 b)
Carton with 24 pcs 2 888 8247 13411 7 c)
Carton with 36 pcs 3 888 8247 13411 4 EAN-13 carton code for the above will be stored in NEPC as 0 888 8247 13411 3 If you have any queries, please contact SANC at Tel: 3311535. Note: Please refer to the appended document on Understanding
EAN Code for details on how to compute the carton code based on the
availability of EAN Code |

units per carton and the type of packaging |
Eg : Cock Brand - Pure Groundnut oil - 2kg
